Visit by Professor Thomas Van der Walt
On 28th September 2015 Technical University of Mombasa Library hosted Professor Thomas Van der Walt from the Department of Information Science, University of South Africa (UNISA). Prof Van der Walt is a renowned LIS scholar with a wealth of experience in teaching and research. He is also the Chief Editor of one of the respected peer-reviewed LIS journal in the region the “Mousaion: South African Journal of Information Studies”
Welcome New Students
Technical University of Mombasa Library wants to extend a warm welcome to all our new students at the main campus as well as at Kwale and Lamu campuses.
We have organized a library instruction/Information Literacy program for all new students. The aim of the program is to introduce first year students to the Library’s resources and services, as well provide them with information on effective search strategies to enable them make efficient use of the library e-resources.
A New book authored by TUM staff
The library acquired copies of the book titled “Laboratory methods of soil testing in construction engineering” authored by Mr. Wycliffe Namwiba who is an academic staff in the Department of Building and Civil Engineering at Technical University of Mombasa.
The book provides theoretical underpinning for soil testing covered in the laboratory manual of the BS1377 (1980). It covers principles governing laboratory methods of soil testing and equipments used.
